Your bathroom is a sacred place

Your home bathroom is where you start and finish your day! It is a space that is often overlooked and yet it is where you can spend a few private moments everyday to enjoy conscious self care.

How can you create a peaceful, waste free and decluttered space to enjoy this 'me' time?

Simple steps to get you started:

  1. Take everything out of your cupboards and shower.

  2. Divide into 3 piles by frequency of use. Be honest with yourself about what you actually do not. It is one of the first steps towards becoming a more conscious consumer. Take charge to acknowledge what you actually need and what benefits YOU instead of buying into Ads or product trends.

  3. Do a thorough cleaning for a fresh start. Instead of thinking of it as a chore, think of it as a cleansing ritual, a fresh start and a good investment into creating a harmonious space for yourself.

  4. Organise your frequently used products so that they are easily accesible, visible and tidy. Think about ways to reduce waste with your favourite products, you can think about refillable, or choosing products that have little, reusable or no packaging. By reducing waste in your bathroom, you're not only contributing to a healthier planet, but you will also save time for yourself by not worrying about constantly throwing away and buying bulky plastic bottles, binning packages, etc.

  5. Do a cleanse of products that you do not use (you can give them out to friends). Check the expiry date and do not use any expired products.

  6. Take a moment to reflect (without judgement) on how much of what you previously had is actually serving you and make a commitment to yourself to keeping this a peaceful and minimal space.

  7. The final step is all about being mindful. In order to keep up this ritual, be aware on choosing products that work for you, create minimal waste and are good for our planet!
